intro

...a note from the Director

Although my passport states that Canada is my home, after 14 years of international teaching, I consider IS Manila and the Philippines to be my second home. I originally came to ISM for two years - maybe three, as one of the reasons I got into international teaching was to see the world. However, as I began working with the incredibly talented students and teachers at ISM, three years turned into four, then five and now I find myself starting my sixth school year - and marveling at how quickly time passes when you work in a fantastic school doing a job you love. In my time at ISM I have taught IB Theatre, been Program Leader for the MS/HS Dance, Drama and Film departments, directed plays and produced literally hundreds of stunning events as Performing Arts Director. For school year 2011-12 I am stepping out of the classroom to focus on supporting our many arts events as well as IASAS Cultural Convention, MUN and the Global Issues Conference. I blog regularly at the Fine and Performing Arts Blog.
